Another option is to tilt the seat base rearwards slightly by installing spacers under the leading edge. 3 or more washers at each bolt seems to be the norm.
I’ve got 235/65/17’s on a 4motion with a 35mm lift kit. Rub a little on full lock. Anyone know what spacers I’d need to run if I fit the BFgoodwich 245/65/17’s ???
Thanks
I’ve been reading a load of threads on wheels, tyres etc. and a lot of them mention spacers.
So, how to get the rears out to fill the arch?
I’ve ordered the Wolfrace Eurosport Munich 18x8.5 with Goodyear 255/45R18 103Y XL tyres. They’re ET 42.
They’ll poke out 32mm further than the stock...
No need for staggered spacers if you're happy with the standard fitment with the rear wheels sitting further in.
However, if you want front and rear poke to look similar you need staggered spacers or wheels with differing offsets/widths.
I would not imagine much difference in the safety aspect as both systems will be well over engineered. You can buy a wheel bolt alignment tool which helps fitting wheels with or without spacers.
Thanks everyone -
I noticed a comment from Just Kampers on their YouTube clip where they said it would be ok to fit the rails without the spacers if you didn't have them.
That got me thinking.
I worked out that the front and back spacer was actually stopping the bolt from getting to the thread...
...I ran 275 width tyres I needed 10mm spacer son the front to prevent full lock rubbing even at stock ride height. There is a problem adding spacers to just the front though as it makes the rear look like it's a lot narrower. Generally if people add spacers they increase rear by 10mm. I run...
Correct 5075650 only fits t5 and t6
25mm spacers H&R 5075650A(silver)
Or
B5075650B(black)
Both fit t6.1
It took me while to get therebut the manufacturer was good enough to answer an email
If you have spacers on the front yes it’s a possibility. Do the wheel rub on the outside if tyres, normally you can see marks on the tyre sidewall if this is the case.
The white transparent tapes does exactly the same thing as the yellow rubber ring. Therefore I decided to use one of them. The original T6 slipring has no rubber ring the spacers are the transparent tapes. I use silicon based grease it seems working as a charm (on the bench).
