    Bought a Midge / Mosquito proof bell net to turn the bed into princess / boudoir mode. Worked a treat up in Kielder forest last week. Far fewer bites than we got in Scotland!

    Midge netting needs to be finer than mosquito netting. Even the oem VW ones don’t keep out midges.

    Actually if the wnd is more than 10mph they can't cope. That mesh actually looks pretty good. If its a metalic mesh maybe connect your leisure battery to it. Bzz! Bzz! bzz! Mmmm burning midge smell!

    Tbh the best time of year to visit the west coast is in spring or autumn which means you get no midges! Autumn colours are just amazing too (this was Arran in October).

    That is good to know. I swell up like a balloon with midge bites so the first thing that I did when I got my van was get midge screens for the sliding windows.
