Hi all having just purchased a t6 from VW Listers, I have a few issues with the van
one of which is a whining noise at idle and gets louder after a long (ish) journey. Listers are saying this is normal but to me it sounds like the steering pump is on its way out. The van has done 70k and is 5...
That’s what I was hoping for, just a leaking hose. Had a smoke test done and found no leaks.
Think I have left it far too long and Turbo is just giving up. What I thought was an air leak was actually the turbo whining and on its last legs. So hopefully it will be all sorted next week and back on...
...had a Pendle remap 12 months ago and all has been fine until now, no idea whether this is a contributing factor or not……
It’s immediately noticeable on start up and there is a definite whine when driving, especially during acceleration.
Could this be gearbox related?
The van has done 52k...
...the t6 method which appears to be air to water.
I didn’t have any symptoms of failure, no lack of performance or limp mode lights, so assume it’s just being changed as a preventative measure to preempt such problems.
It’s also in for wheel bearings, deafening whine, and rattling dual mass...
Hello all. Newish to the forum and new to T6 ownership. I’m having fun so far however my van has a strange whining noise when the revs are increased (it’s not from the passenger seat!). Having looked at other threads I assume it is the aux belt or cam belt tensioner failing, but am not 100% sure...
I do notice an occasional whine from the AC especially at idle or when the revs drop between gears.
I am able to stop the noise if I turn the AC off which is weird considering how it works.
Some great points above. Also worth listening out for whining from the engine that changes pitch with revs as a failing auxiliary belt tensioner is reasonably common (my 150bhp had it at around 30k miles). About £200 to change belt and tensioner. Creaks from the roof are common and can sometimes...
...with 68k miles on it, CXHC Engine , 5 Speed manual
Its just had a new aux belt and aux belt tensioner fitted , and we are still getting a whine/ squeak on cold start which clears after 30 seconds to 1 minute
Also on a cold start in the morning there is also some sort of rumbling comming...
Hi all, after much head scratching with the help of the forum I established the annoying noise at idle was in fact a regen. However, it’s making a fair old whistling type noise when the regen is happening, it’s a bit intermittent but for the most part it sounds like wind in a tunnel (not...
...engine now runs fine but am still occasionally getting P226D Substrate missing (with a brand new DPF) and Black smoke on load. there is also a whine that sounds like a powersteering pump on full lock (suspect either the pump or the Alternator bearing).
I am looking into the fuel rail...
Hi guys
New to the forum so first and foremost hello.
Hoping some one could shed some light.
Got 19 plate caravelle 204 DSG. Had for about 4 months.
I Was driving yesterday and notice the engine sounded different and noticeably when going down hill and engine braking it was really...
I find the advantage of the Caravelle is that we have the bench a long way back. Haven't upgraded the stereo yet but it's plenty loud enough when needed.
Ahem.
Had a bit of a nightmare lately, had the dreaded vibrations and groaning from steering mainly at stationary or slow speeds. Changed the pump with a new genuine one and the symptoms didn’t really improve and now the new pump is whining. Flushed it through loads so no air but noticed tiny metal...
Got ya.
My Comforser CF1100 are 225/65/17 102T and are the comfiest AT tyres I’ve ever had.
My Speedo is exact the same as Waze.
I hear a low whine whilst on flat roads.
I’d say a 1/4 the noise of the BFG’s I ran 2 years ago.
Would like to hear the wildpeaks, to see how they compare…
My photos aren’t uploading ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but we is having a great time. My boy Ed sat in the pub, never made a sound. Whining dogs everywhere. On the way out he was rewarded with a bone.
