Ah, I also had a double USB socket perma plugged into the cig socket. It whined and whined at a high pitch squeal so I've since removed it. Will check tomorrow if with the led DRL on and This out the dab signal works.

I have a weird sound going on, with my 204. Between 45-55 there is a noticeable drone, sounds like gearbox or axle whine. It happens again between 85-95 I`ve knocked the box into neutral, and that makes no difference, same sound. I`ve not run it back to Vw yet, as I don`t want to be fobbed off...

Whining or screeching? Screeching implies belt slip as DaveyB says but whining might be a bearing, or perhaps low on power steering fluid. I changed an idler pulley for this reason on a Discovery II
