Hi,
I have 2023 T6.1 using a Sargent EC176.
Previously I could select either leisure or vehicle battery as power source. However, when I try to select the vehicle battery as source now it says "vehicle battery not connected". I have tried changing the 20a fuse labeled vehicle battery on the...
Hi, This is my first post have been lurking the forums and digesting loads of great information. My question is would i be better off with a sargent set up or a victron type one?
Mainly going to be off grid , intend to fit solar to roof and a lipo battery, opinions gratefully recieved,
Thanks in...
Hi, I need to relocate my sargent unit as it's in the way of some units I'm getting fitted later this month.
Just want to double check with anyone in the know with my process.
Measure out units dimensions on the floor and panel.
Switch off leisure battery isolator switch under drivers seat...
Hello all,
I'm looking for any help and advice when installing the sargent ec155, I've read through the wiring diagram and I can understand a majority of it however I'm struggling to see how the connection is made between the ec155 and the leisure battery, the brown and blue wire is the 12v...
Hi all
I've been running the Sargent EC155 for the last 5 years or so and it's done the job. I've just upgraded to a Lithium Fogstar battery from my lead acid LB and the Sargent now keeps alarming randomly for high voltage. I've not changed anything else and have read that the Sargent's don't...
Hi
I have an alarm going off on the Sargent panel when plugged into EHU and charger switched on.
Beeping and flashing green light at top right - stops when disconnect EHU (which was connected to house socket - only way to stop it).
Charger is EC155 and controller EC50.
It also has a solar...
My Sargent EC155 isn't charging the Fogstar Lithium battery. I've checked the 15amp charger fuse on the Sargent and all the switches are up on the breaker. Read another post on here that says probably easier to install a direct charge solution as, the charger function of the Sargent is...
Many, if not the majority of 12V related issues on here, especially LB problems, usually have “Sargent” in the post.

Hi all.
My Sargent DC-DC DX320-12 has started emitting two beeps every 30 seconds ds with the fan starting up, the leisure battery light flashing red twoce with the beeps and then all four lights lighting up. Van is ran regularly, with nothing that uses the leisure battery being used. Solar PV...
Hi - exploring my new van this morning, in particular the electrics. The setup is a Sargent EC155 with EC50 control panel paired with a Victron BMV700 monitor and a Sterling Power B2B unit. Still trying to get my head around the setup and the differences between the Victron and the EC50 for...
I think the point is; for what victron provides it’s definitely the better option but if you remove that functionality from the Sargent then what is left is still a very neat package which I don’t think is readily available elsewhere as an off the shelf solution. There are plenty of examples on...
What's your battery? Lithium?
But yes, the Victron presumably is there to replace the Sargent mains charging facility.
The Sargent therefore is now just for distribution of the 12 and 240v.
...Orion tr-smart DC/DC converter and a solar charge controller connected to leisure battery, usual EHU connected to fused consumer unit with Sargent PF200 switching Battery Charger and two 240V sockets.
Could I just swap the Sargent for a charger/inverter such as Victron energy MultiPlus...
Slow day at work.
Is the red charger switch on on the Sargent box?
Mind you I’m frequently on hookup with solar and the Sargent both charging without any issues.
sooo many problems with these crappy sargent units, I'm gonna rip the whole lot out and install a new victron dc/dc, new mains charger and a lifepo4 battery. I'll replace the old sargent control panel with a cbe type affair and add a battery monitor, light swiches and pump switch.
New small...
@The Flying Scotsman looks to be a shed load of mini blade fuses there but from my Sargent EC160 I've got the lights, fridge, Webasto, water pump and USB skts factor in that most times not all gadgets are working at the same time and a 30A supply to the Sargent is plenty.
Finally said goodbye to my Sargent EC155 and old AGM LB and hello to my Frogstar Drift LiPO4 305amp battery.
Work in progress but cut a big hole in the wardrobe base to drop the battery in. Fits perfectly.
Will make a matching lid and figure out how to connect all the necessary wires that fed...
Got a few pics?
The ctek maybe a DC-DC charger for engine charge?
The Sargent has a basic 12.8vdc PSU that's powered from the EHU. (They call it a charger, but it's just a basic PSU)
So well assume your rear led lights are fed from that Sargent.
And when the EHU power isnt available the...
...happening.
There are a number of other boxes so hopefully someone will be able to clarify if my understanding is right.
1. There is a Sargent EC155 - this works as a consumer unit / fuse box - if I switch the charger button on it then works as a charger too.
2. There is a MPPT box that...
