Anyone know if fitting LEDs in the DRL is legal? I know it’s not in the main/full beam but figured there’s lots of aftermarket LED DRLs so was hopeful. Especially as there are no E marked white bulbs it seems

Did your van come with halogen H7 & H15 lights? I thought you'd get errors and alarms on the dash if you simply replace halogen bulbs with LED?

Aye , new . No bulbs , but I replaced all the bulbs with upgrades when I got my h7 anyway. Quality I would say is not quite as good as the valeo ones , but it's pretty good. Probably biggest downside is old style drl holder . Cheap tho !

Was your starter battery voltage a bit low? You can get a bulb warning if the starter battery voltage is low when the ignition is first turned on. The warning will clear when you restart if the battery has had a chance to recharge a bit.

Only a side note really, but whether you choose these or the VW H7 you will need to code them for the main and dipped beam to come on together. That’s how they are meant to work. It’s set differently on the H4 because dipped and main use the same bulb in the same lense unit.

Post #1 in this thread shows you a comparison between the H4 and H7 headlights. They look very similar but the layout of DRL and main beam is slightly different. You can fit LED bulbs in either but these are illegal and an MOT failure. The other option are the aftermarket headlights such as...
