If it's still doing it after that you will need it looking at .... Possible wateringress or corrosion. On or around switches or BCM.
Eg wateringress on door panel window/lock...
Thanks for the thoughts bud. I’d somehow missed that particular power closing thread. Will sift through that tonight. I had looked at the one taking the door lock mechanism apart, with a decent YouTube vid, and cleaning the inbuilt microswitch. I’ll see what I find and relay back any findings...
...with recycled insulation (in the rear only).
Still got sliding doors to do and tailgate but like fronts wont use insulation in case of wateringress from leaking things. Didnt do them at the time as am upgrading to antrhracite all round and was waiting for a good second hand set to turn...
I kno the kits from Skipton Car Radio come with a rubber surround to protect from wateringress.
Not had mine in long enough to know if it works, but they do look substantial.

I put some rivnuts in the roof bar and used some roofing washers I had left over from the leak free roof bar installation. When I’m not away camping I tighten them up so there’s no wateringress into the roof bar. I then just hook on the sail using some clips I had, very quick to put up
Did it work previously?
Is it mounted underneath the vehicle?
Wateringress?. Corrosion?
Fyi.... It's a very bad idea to put a fuse in a circuit higher than it's rated for. (Ie 10A in 7.5A )
Got any pics?
Have you checked the fuse card in the download section to see what else is supplied...
...blanks from Just Kampers.
Top Tip! Don't over tighten them! They are not very strong and getting the thread out is a pita. Also put a small smear of silicon grease on the rubber prior to putting in the van, to prevent wateringress.
Set of 4 External Roof Panel blanking bolt for VW T5 and T6
So it all originated after a good old intensive wash... I expect there is a wateringress but want to have the right parts to fix prior to starting. Will pin back some photos when I get in about it later... it is intermittent so it says to me likely a issue with a cable or indeed sensor...
...is a T5.1 but the locking mechanism isn't the standard set up according to their parts diagram and catalogue so i'll try the @minmax89 suggestion / test first and look at the wiring loom after - we did have some wateringress as a result of the tailgate seal failing so that might explain. Thanks
...connections under the body of the van - especially leading to the Adblue control unit. VW dealer replaced this 3 months ago and its corroded again already. Does anyone know of any common places for wateringress, or if its possible to protect the underside more from spray off wet roads? Thanks!
...nut can be considered controlled in the true sense.
Metal to metal friction is subject to huge variations - add into that all the wateringress and muck off the roads and you really have very little control on the tension on the bolt if un-lubricated.
In laymans terms, you will lose 50%...
Many thanks, yes, that would be so helpful- just concerned about too much wateringress.
If you give me a shout when theyre done I'll paypal you the cost
Any idea how to pull the lower rear of the door closer to the body? Mine is not flush at all at the rear bottom, but is ok at front bottom, and ok along top edge.
...them lonways to give some additional support.
i think the main issue is when people fully-seal-all-round which causes air pockets and wateringress that can heat-up in extreme weather and bubble up the panel . . . . . . im hoping by leaving the lower ridges open, and at the rear that this...
...You need you allow the back wave to move from the speaker and then dampen and disperse.
The waterguard is designed to reduce wateringress to the speaker no illuminate it. You shouldn't get that much water in the door with a waterguard fitted that you risk this.
3. We always run the cables...
Possible corrosion on one of the common earth points.
caused by… wateringress? Maybe..
need to look up the earthing diagram, but 2 places off the top of head are; bulkhead behind the pedals and behind the dash clocks. There might be one high up above the courtesy lights. (Most likely)
