Yes, the tire shop checked that, but I could experiment with filling them up with e.g. 15% more just to test it out.

Anyone with VCP or ODIS on Cumbria/North England

Hi, I'm looking for someone who can programme non factory tyre sizes for my T6.1. I have direct TPMS but I can only select one of three factory tyre sizes ( all either R16 or R17) to set pressures, which means my 255/45/R19's are running a little hard. Looking at threads on TPMS, I believe...

18” wheels but what size tyres?

I run at 42PSI all round, I rarely carry more than 100KG in the back but I like to keep pressure the same as mine's 4Motion.

    T32 4motion All Terrain 235/55 R18

For a light load on the original 215/60R17 tyres recommended 56 front and 47 rear. For heavy load it was 58/58. The online Tire Pressure Calculator app puts 47 psi on 215/60R17 as 37 psi on 235/55 R18. The converter doesn't give a figure for 56 psi and the relationship is not linear, but it is...

    Swamper tyre pressure

...up to seal the rim and forget! Though I am asked and someone supposedly adjusts them, Pull over a very short distance away check tyre pressures and think did he use a pressure gage or just do the look test because even when they ask they are nowhere near what they are supposed to be and no...

Tyre Pressure Monitoring System retrofit to Startline

this discussion is based on direct TPMS (which requires sensors in each wheel) it is possible to activate indirect TPMS on any vehicle that doesn’t require any wheel sensors, it won’t give you exact pressures but it will let you know if one tyre start to lose pressure

    20” Tyre Pressure

Between 36-40 is the sweet spot in our testing. 36 has always been spot on with perfect tyre wear, up to 40 when fully loaded. GY F1 is our recommended tyre, but never found an inside with any tyre running this pressure. 44 is too high

Squeaky tyres - is there such a thing?

Will do, it’s also been very hot here lately so again I did wonder if that’s affecting the tyre pressures

    20” Tyre Pressure

How did you find tyre wear at this pressure? I've just had to swap my fronts early for excessive wear on both outer edges suggesting the pressure at 36 was too low for my make of tyre. I'm trying the new set at 44 just to see if wear will be more even.

Sold Devonport + Goodyear mud & snow tyres <500m + TPMS valves. £550

...Goodyear Cargo Vector mud and snow tyres including centre caps. Each tyre also includes a TPMS valve that I had fitted to work with 6.1 tyre pressure display. Alloys taken of delivery mileage van and 500 miles were done on them over winter before I put summer tyres on and they have stayed...

    Retrofit TMPS

T6 or T6.1 ? You can activate indirect TPMS for free (software required) that uses ABS sensors to detect tyre deflation or you can install direct TPMS to get actual pressure values

255/45/38 Tyre Pressures (wearing in middle)

I had the exact same on my T32 with those tyres and 44psi. Tyres lasted 8k. Fronts always looked low so wouldn't want to drop pressure any more. Van lowered too and correctly aligned. Never found an answer. Now running 235/55/18 at 41psi and hoping it doesn't happen again.

SSP 541 - Tyre Pressure Monitoring System 2014

VW Self Study Program, Document 541 - Tyre Pressure Monitoring Program How often do you check the tyre pressures on your own vehicle? Answer: like so many drivers, probably rarely and, for example, only before you set out on holiday or when you notice that a tyre has obviously lost pressure. In...

What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Pressure washed underneath, lano guarded (miserable job at roadside) and fitted belly pan. And inflated tyres, rock and roll!

Squeaky tyres - is there such a thing?

For test purposes, stick a few extra psi in the tyre. If it goes quiet, then you know it's the tyre. You could pop some tyre dressing on the tyre and reset the pressure and hopefully that will act as a lubricant and keep the noise away

    20’s any regrets?

I run mine 42 on the front due to having the weight of the biturbo engine and 4 motion. I'll keep my eye on the blister situation, thanks for the heads up. Rears are still pirellis.

    Vibration 2023 4M, Cali, 15k km

I also wonder if particular tyre, its design manufacturer etc might be more inclined to sympathetic resonance at certain speed with certain road topography. Varying the pressure may possibly change the speed of interaction or force. Some tyre types etc may damp out resonance more than others...
