Not exactly a fault - just notification of elevated NOx emissions. Possibly needs a software update to "fix" the issue. Please post "Detailed ECU...
VW diagnostic tool (ODIS) decodes the dates correctly. The recorded odometer reading should help, too?
(Many of) the ECU faults "fade away" in approx. 300 miles if the fault won't resurface. E.g. P20EE is one of those.
True - it's not a recall for this engine. Instead the update is categorised as "available" - especially when customer is experiencing the P20EE fault.
Unfortunately VCDS does not have software loading capabilitity. Other tools are needed - e.g. ODIS at VW, or VCP VCPSYSTEM ® :: VCP CAN...
Van went in yesterday for a technical enhancement that I assumed would mean a software update and the end of my P20EE woes, got a call about an hour after the van had got there to say its ready as it didn't actually need an update, I explained the old software on it and was told that the recall...
There is a software update for this engine which will cure the original P20EE issue.

...in the reversing camera.
It moaned about ABS and traction control, auto stop-start and the foward radar/distance sensor. I managed to reset a P20EE code and did the battery disconnect/shorting to clear the ecu volatile memory. ABS and traction warnings gone, but the warning lights are still...
Bit like mine, always seems to come on after a fast road, I carry a carista to reset it but it was getting more regular so now just leave it on! Can't be doing with it, it's been the thing that makes me want to get rid.
...it back and it was reset.
Thereafter I have had the alarm come up 4 times, I have a AutoLink AlL319 OBD reader and the fault has always been P20EE, which I have reset. I have always kept the adBlue tank topped up and the van seems to use it at a constant rate. I have no idea what software the...
Well, for class N1 vehicle (VIN: WV1....) the software update is not mandatory - which might be the reason for their statement. However, there is an update available (6166) for vehicle's suffering P20EE fault.
No, it just irons out some annoyances.
Would be astonishing if not.
...have recalled it for some software updates again as it hadn't seen a VW garage prior to me having it but I don't hugely trust the VW network if being honest and although its booked in for a few weeks time I'm getting it done in the hope it gets rid of the persistent P20EE EML light...
Not sure if relevant to this but as I mentioned in a an earlier post I get frequent P20EE fault and mines on original 2016 software, adblue last ages, it went to VW in November and they said it didn't need any software updates.
Today I've received an email from VW Dealer regarding a technical...
Thanks for posting this information, I've downloaded Torque and will go and try it shortly, as a member of the P20EE club and have been told my original 2016 software is fine by VW and it's most likely the EGR cooler causing the fault codes, I'm reluctant to throw money at the van without knowing...
...the DPF differential pressure.
Aside from the curious DPF pressure data, it will be interesting to see if the ECU control logic will interpret the duration/values of these spikes in the NOx datastream as sufficient to trigger the P20ee fault when I start using the van again a few weeks from now.
...NOx - as this functionality was not available to me in Torque lite.
I am especially pleased with this result, as I have recently joined the P20ee code club following a 300 mile journey in sub-zero temperatures. I am reluctant to change any physical components, and your excellent earlier...
I got the software version, it was the original one, it went in last week funnily enough and they said although on original 2016 software and getting P20EE fault it doesn't need an update and it isn't part of any recall!
