I can't see how a regen would affect those parts because during DPF regen there is no exhaust recirculation. Then it's just clean air through manifold into the cylinders and no exhaust flow through EGR cooler.
Hi folks, I have experienced high idle and fans running after rides during summer without DPF regen actually happening at that time - sometimes even checked with diagnostic tool to be sure. I assume it may be due to the fact that it's quite hot weather, used A/C, it must be very hot in the...
Yeah thanks for the responses which lean me towards still experiencing a regen (or part of it).
@Pauly can't be 100% sure all the time it's not a regen, sometimes it certainly is. Other times I have checked with OBDEleven something like current regen time (or smth like that) parameter in the...
Thanks for the replies.
Point taken on the recommendations.
My gut feel on the requirement of the DPF regeneration process was that the EGR would be closed to allow increased temperatures for the regen and the ECU would look for a functioning EGR before starting the regen process.
I'm...
In my very short experience of regens - passive regen seems to be a bit of a myth.
Having used apps/Carista etc to track the soot mass, it really doesn't seem to make a jot of difference whether I drive at 3500rpm or 2000rpm.
As I said - very short experience but just my take.
Personally I do an oil change every 5000 and try to complete all regens before switching off the engine. Just approaching 50,000 miles and all looks good. Mine is a 2022 model, but the regens are going to be what kills the engine if you stop the engine before completion.
...in this regard I would like to add that my T6.1 behaves differently to my previous T6. If I arrive at my destination and see the van is doing a regen and time doesn’t allow me to go for a drive then I sit and wait for the revs to drop, then leave the van to idle for a short while.Next time...
Hi MMI,
Seen as you’re the go to man. I’ve been monitoring injector time deviations and noticed when it’s doing a regen injector 4 is -43 and the other ones are all positve. Does this indicate an issue with injector 4? Or is this normal during regen? Deviations are less drastic when idling...
I tried a forced regen with Carista and it gave me a warning that the DPF was too full, so warned me that forcing a regen had risks. It still allowed me to start the regen.... but nothing seemed to happen, even though all requirements were met. 1/4 Fuel in tank, speed, rpm etc. And Carista still...
