From observation using VAG-DPF (not the extensive data logging of @mmi) I'm certain that a T6.1 doesn't complete a regen at idle but gives up at around the 5 minute mark.
I still let mine run on though as my assumption (hope?) is that controlled pause to regen is not going to be dumping diesel...
High tick over is obvs sign.
Dash light will only come on when DPF is overfill and not been able to regen.
No software will change how often it regens so this is either a misunderstanding or dealer bullxxxx
Get a Carista (or similar) and monitor soot yourself and trigger a regen when it...
Trim removal tools. Add that to the gloss black trims and grille bought yesterday. Oh and a syringe and hose to remove some excess oil which popped up as a notice on the dash the other day. Guessing I've been unlucky with regen timings.
Burning smell and fan on points to the dpf doing a Regen ... You need to let the van complete the Regen cycle.

Don't know the details about A6 but e.g. T6 doesn't finish DPF regen at standstill...

Exactly that, I always make sure I turn start/stop on when I finish a trip and let the van stop itself.
So many things can disable it (regen, battery health) I treat it as a little regular health check.
If it doesn't stop and the revs are raised, likely a regen.
In your situation I'd still...
Hey Daku and Robert, what's the current situation with this thingy? Is it available somewhere for sale and what's the up to date list of features it provides? Stumbling upon this thread while looking for a solution to get "notified" about DPF regens all other things are nice but not vital for me.
Would be normal for T6 when it's at the end of regen cycle -then the distance would reset to 0 km.
Please post engine blockmap data so we can have a look into what's available - as below

I had oil and filter change, new sensor... didnt do the trick. Then did this and it's sorted by the looks of it. I leave it around 3/4.
Regen, I look at the revs on idle. Usually around 800... when doing regen is about a 1000, smells hot the engine does too when you go outside.
Hope you get...
Yeah, to clarify although I say I've experienced it in previous cars...The problems haven't been huge and like you say nothing that half hour of driving hasn't sorted out.
Based on the numbers it seems the normal soot calculated range on this engine for active DPF regeneration is from 9 to 30 grams. Thus DPF regen is triggered at 30 grams of soot calculated.
The app's percentage calculation seems to assume a range of 0...24 grams. In the app only upper limit can...
