Bought a used broken CFCA motor to restore.
The shop who changed that motor said the problem with it was that it pushed out cooling liquide from the expansiontank.
In my world a blown headgasket or a cracked head.
Buy I can't find any issues. Both the head and the gasket look's good.
Any...
Got the dread cfca engine in my bus and noticed that when I come to a rest at a junction then set off there's a puff of smoke. It only does it when it's warm and setting off from a junction. It doesn't do it when you give it some and it doesn't use any oil. I'm at abit of a loss as I thought the...

What is your thought a bout such conversion?
I would like a Caravelle with a 4 motion and it seems the CFCA engine is the most available.
I know all the issues of the CFCA and I know the limitations of the biturbo if I wish to go for large power, hence I...

Hi all, I'm currently having the headache of trying to get my engine sorted. Does anyone know where I can find a reconditioned CFCA? And get it fitted in the North East?
Any help in this matter is appreciated.

Hi all,
Got a query on how part of the intake assembly should be sealed please... This is a CFCA engine (and nothing to do with the CFCA issues that abound).
I noticed that I was getting some oil spray in the engine and found that it is because on boost there is a pretty decent air leak where...
Another problem with EGR on CFCA engines when winter is cold -15 celsius degrees is that engine almost always is cold even with webasto full power work.
This means driving with CFCA without EGR is very uncomfortable.
This is the reason why i'm putting back EGR on my CFCA engine with latest...
Hi, quick post. Just wondering (for my understanding) is it a simple task to compression test a cfca 180 engine?
Interested in process, A- Z and an indicative cost?
Thanks
Well, the illustrations are from Workshop manual which covers also CFCA. Anyways, the location should be at the border of engine and gearbox. Quite possibly below/behind the EGR cooler.

Hi Guys, I recently bought a transporter T6 with a "new" engine which has done only 30k km according to the invoices from the dealer.
Although i'm satisfied with the car in general i find the engine a bit tame, just like its a bit tired.
My question is if anyone has replaced MAP sensor...
On the CFCA engines with the bi-turbo they had an EGR cooler that started to disintegrate with aluminium bits ending up in the engine, causing damage.
Hence getting the EGR removed.
