T6.1 oil level warning: Reduce Oil Level!

My 21 plate T6.1 went into the local dealer on Monday, they said they weren't aware of the issue and that my van's software is all up to date. They checked the oil level and confirmed that it was overfilled (pretty much accusing me of topping it up too much!) and they wanted to charge me for...

    2016 180PS Bi-TDi CFCA engine failure

Thank you, already sent 2 letters via trading standards advice. but dealer said what did I expected out of this and I said new engine and he said you'll never get that it's a 2013 second hand van. So obviously I've took it further, and he said he's passed it on to the legal team they deal with...

My T6.1 was in this morning for the software update to resolve the oil level to high warning, time will tell if it’s a fix .

T6.1 oil level warning: Reduce Oil Level!

I did check the oil level when the light first came on and it was within the range. Now the light has come on again, I have not checked the oil level. To be fair I’ve had the van new since August and I’ve only done approx 3k miles. In the 5 months since delivery I’ve not topped the oil level...

Servicing - costs, schedules and VWCV plans

Just a heads up, but when I had the oil level high warning, the VW Assist guy who came informed me that just just sitting with the engine running at the end of a journey does not let the engine complete the regen. Apparently the van detects this and stops the regen before its finished. (At least...

T6.1 oil level warning: Reduce Oil Level!

Software update for the high oil level issue installed today after the 6th visit. Garage could not tell me when update was released but admitted it was a while ago. Either way, fingers crossed its the end of a long annoying saga.

[Resolved] T6 Oil level too high

Hi, I'm new to the forum. Just had this orange ! warning light 'Oil level too high - take to workshop' (or similar) - can't quite remember. Thankfully I was 2 mins from home, so didn't panic. I've been reading the advice on here and it sounds like the cause/fix isn't yet conclusive. I have...

There have been instances with some manufacturers that so much fuel is dumped into the cylinders, that it doesn’t all get burnt, and finds its way into the sump (diluting the oil), and raising the level of the “oil” in the sump. Mazda in particular had an engine that did this. I assume this is...

New engine required - apparently - what would you do?

    Here's the last oil test results from my 120k mile Cayenne V8 diesel. Oil changed every 10k miles for TPS Longlife 5W40, always run on supermarket diesel; And here's one from a Golf R at 3.5K miles, prior to running in oil change. See the high copper level from the shell bearings wearing in;

    Oil level too high’ warning

IMO the key is to establish why the oil level is too high before deciding how to deal with it. If it has been overfilled then yes, removing some is appropriate. But if diesel has entered the sump due to incomplete regenerations I'd rather change the oil, diluted oil surely cannot protect your...

    AdBlue top-up issue (merge)

Thanks. Well, as expected. 01-Engine reads sensor correctly and estimates the remaining range accordingly but 17-Instruments reports very differently. Quite a mystery why the range gets tangled. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------...

    Oil level too high’ warning

I’ll see around 90 degrees on the oil (not the water temp) on gentle driving but fast driving it’ll get near 100. I’ve seen something like 105 on long uphills in the summer with the AC on. I’d imagine a new engine would get a little warmer due to increased friction while bedding in. Hope you...

T6.1 oil level warning: Reduce Oil Level!

A dipstick is a tried and tested foolproof method of showing the oil level. An electronic sensor is not. Always trust the dipstick over the sensor, believe what you see rather than what an electronic device tells you!

    2016 180PS Bi-TDi CFCA engine failure

I wish it were better news. Maybe have a word with Trading Standards, possibly the dealer has had some previous complaints. The oil sample analysis is obviously backing up the compression test results but normally it’s very important to have the oil hours / mileage in the data, I see that was...
