Good post that, thanks, I’m having same issue.. my previous T6 I just had a piggy back to one fuse and then the ground, and it worked when switching off / on ignition. With your explanation above, does that mean 2 piggy backs and a ground? Would you have a photo of them in situ?

Generally speaking passenger vehicles don't require tachograph. Additionally, I expect the MAM of your trailer to be 2220kg(you have quoted 2500kg and 2000kg). Can you confirm by posting the photo of your engine bay weight rating sticker?
