Do the new "bulbs" illuminate if you feed them "directly" from a battery +12V into the "stud", negative to the shell? What about when reversing the feeds?
The earlier H7 had an issue with the DRL holder burning out and causing faults. The holder was updated on the later models (2018ish?). You can buy upgrade kits for about £30. There was a link on here somewhere recently.
If you have fog lights you could use Carista to code them as the DRL until...
So all headlamps have vertical and horizontal adjusters on them, these being circular white-colour dials that you adjust with a 6mm hex or cross head driver.
The reason I asked about yours was the remark:
The OEM LED headlights have automatic level sensors on the front and rear ARB which...
Bulb holder shows next to no damage. But casing has melted slightly.
I put the bulb back in with a view to order the upgrade kit. But as luck would have it once refitted on the van the drl lit up. Result if only a temporary one.
Now it’s dark outside to test, the +200% Osram Nightbreakers...
Yes, it would work, similar performance to getting the OEM H7s but with the Led DRL.
Some reviews have said the Led indicator strip is not very visible in some circumstances, but I had heard they had improved them in the latest version.
As said above, still would need coding.

they are only a 30 min drive from my house :D lethal for the wallet tbh! lol
...necessary - can just do one side at a time. Makes it much easier to align and fix back, and only needs one person. Simple job really.
I used the VW DRLbulb holder repair kit on mine. Think it was 35 quid per side from memory. Once the headlight is on your work bench it’s a simple soldering...
Per wiring diagram T6.1 headlights have no dedicated side light bulb (pin 10 empty on T6.1) - instead dimmed DRL acts as side light.
See the linked wiring diagrams here:

You could redirect T5.1 side light feed...
Don't use any kind of non weather sealed connection.
That ability to remake the connection is of no use if using a non weather sealed connection means the wires have corroded away in the first place.
I've linked to @Paynewright post with pictures a couple of times now but for absolute clarity...
Awesome. I went for Osram Cool Blue pictured below. They give a whiter light than other halogens but not as white as the DRL. I’d recommend not getting the 150-200% as they don’t last long and are a yellow light. They are ok for main beam but you will be changing the dipped ones about once a...
Has the bulb warning dash light been switched off by VCDS. Some people, including me, have done this when fitting LED DRLbulbs in H7 units following upgrade from H4's.
Appreciate you may not have been through it yet but has anyone with LED bulbs ever had an issue come MOT time?
In theory they aren’t road legal but are any testers actually going to notice?
Love the idea of LEDs for colour and brightness and reduced power consumption but MOTs always make me feel...
Aye , new .
No bulbs , but I replaced all the bulbs with upgrades when I got my h7 anyway.
Quality I would say is not quite as good as the valeo ones , but it's pretty good.
Probably biggest downside is old style drl holder .
Cheap tho !
