The T6 and T6.1 are very different in terms of electronics. The RCD330 works in the T6 and older as a direct replacement, but not in anything newer. Besides, it doesn't have a CD player, or DAB.

I still have the one above. I was let down on the sale.

Browsing around it seems that a couple of people have successfully fitted RCD330-units to their T6 - but I can't find any mention of T6.1. If it fits and works, it might be what I'm looking for.

Thanks. Do you think it would be doable to get one of these to run from the front USB socket of the RCD330, through the trim and then have a wireless appleplay device plugged into it in the void behind the unit?

Absolutely. Just make sure you’ve got a gap of a couple mm. I do this in my Golf.

Hmm. I've definitely heard mixed reviews. But I've also seen lots of units on ebay falsely being advertised as RCD330 when actually they are RCD360 (have no 3.5 jack socket at front). Apparently RCD360 are of much lower build quality as far as I can gather.

I only ever used it with the adapter. My layout etc wasn’t ideal for plugging in. All the users on the rcd330 forums don’t report this issue but it was a deal breaker for me. I was trying to be transparent

I'll wait for a pic of your actual wheel. Did you remove the quadlock adapter that the RCD330 needs to work with the later plugs?
