New to VCDS. Suspect I may have a EGR/cooler/link pipe issue, but no conclusive relevant engine fault codes yet. Sometimes nearly stalls and drops into limp and occassionally can stall but then flashing glow plug light clears on restart. Thought would run the test and post to compare results to...
Hi all,
Very new to the forum and Transporter ownership.
Picked up the van on Sunday and on Monday it developed a rough idle which doesn’t go away when warm or after a good drive.
2016 T6 CAAC Bluemotion 140 272k miles. Cambelt and Egr cooler replaced in the last year. Idled perfectly fine on...
...always been a good experience) however recently there was a terrible, diesel smell coming from the engine which turned out to be a split EGRpipe. I'm sure the fumes were giving me headaches every-time I drove it, so I decided to get it fixed asap. On top of that it was due a Cambelt change...
I’ve now had 2 quotes but no one has completely confirmed the issue. Just quoted to replace both EGRpipes.
I’m struggling to get anywhere with diagnosis and I’m laid up with COVID which sucks.
My local specialist, as I’ve stated, wants £500, though I’ve gone back to them to see if they can cut...
I've been quoted £245, fitted, by a local independent VW specialist, which seems reasonable based on the prices I can find for the genuine parts online (anywhere from £150 to £200).
I do have one of the easier to work on vans, but would need to buy the right spline tools for the job, so probably...
Just up date guys
Replaced the intake manifold cleaned out to inlet ports of carbon as best as possible and Egrpipe checked valves using bore scope could see no damage. Built it all back up road test over 100 kms went well full power no faults. Time will tell if there’s anything else causing...
How about EGR cooler? It also would bring coolant into intake manifold. Have you checked inside of the EGRpipe in front of the engine (yellow arrow in the picture)
Morning, my van has started making a whooshing noise like air escaping when accelerating, seems to be coming from the left side of the engine bay. No warning lights have come on. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Cheers
I totally agree not all garages. I like it but when you’re spending good money to buy a premium van, you at least expect a premium service like you received.
First dibs for forum members for the following items before I list them on eBay
1. 04L145749H charge air cooler. Replaced as precaution when turbo renewed.
2. 04L131512T EGR valve and cooler.
3. 03N145704 Biturbo and exhaust manifold. Large turbo ok. Small turbo shaft snapped. Can supply...
I changed my 204 egr and you need to drain the coolant, there are so many pipes you should expect a drop in coolant level afterwards even with vacuum filling.
Top it up and recheck every few days. You shouldn't have to refill too much. Take note of how much you put in. If it's more...
