My 102 has a whine when accelerating. I liken it to the old London taxis and some buses. Sounds a bit agricultural but it’s done it forever with no turbo issues. It happened before the DMF needed replacing and still does it after. There are so many noises in the van I try and ignore them all...

I thought on the T6.1 it primes on driver door open? There is certainly several buzzes and whines kicking off in mine when the door opens.

I hope it’s sorts it for you and me! The thing that concerned me most was the worsening audible power steering whine even at idle and metal specs in the fluid. I don’t want issues going round a bend 😵‍💫

That’s what I was hoping for, just a leaking hose. Had a smoke test done and found no leaks. Think I have left it far too long and Turbo is just giving up. What I thought was an air leak was actually the turbo whining and on its last legs. So hopefully it will be all sorted next week and back on...

I find the advantage of the Caravelle is that we have the bench a long way back. Haven't upgraded the stereo yet but it's plenty loud enough when needed. Ahem.

I do notice an occasional whine from the AC especially at idle or when the revs drop between gears. I am able to stop the noise if I turn the AC off which is weird considering how it works.

Also worth listening out for whining from the engine that changes pitch with revs as a failing auxiliary belt tensioner is reasonably common (my 150bhp had it at around 30k miles).
