Noco Genius 10 not working correctly...
Welcome to us all Michael! If it's standing alone for too long, make sure you look after the starterbattery! (And the leisure battery if you have one).
Try and read everything @Dellmassive has ever written! That will make the next few days pass quickly!
No you are not correct. I have been using it now for ages and it provides charging power with or without the leisure battery been charged. I have just confirmed this in the last hour with campervan parked up in garage with no external charger or solar power.
the other thing to look at is to make sure that there are no cables connected to the battery NEG post... - a common mistake by installers.
post a pic of your starterbattery and we can take a look.
hi chris . the idea is to extend the life of the starterbattery at the sacrifice of the leisure battery which i can get out of the van and charge in the house , the leisure battery seems to get to about 13.1v after a charge so should/hopefully extend the life of the starter . dont have any...
...drop when the starter motor kicks in?
dropping the power so the lights dont have enough. . .
any idea what your battery health is like?
good battery? - under 5 years old?
its possible a low starterbattery may cause that.. . .

have a look at fitting a battery monitor, maybe...
I considered it but to be honest I've never had a problem with the starterbattery in over 3 years of ownership, and the van can quite regularly sit in the driveway untouched for 2 or 3 weeks and starts no problem every time. Hopefully that hasn't jinxed it. Our usage tends to be weekends away...
Any ideas about the starterbattery powering the two rear most spots? Seems to be the case when I start engine they come on now?!
Maybe previous wiring used starter circuit somehow? Worried about running starterbattery down, but equally have the amt12-2 so although imperfect maybe it’s okay...
The proper way to do it, is to fit a leisure battery.
A cheap AGM plus split charge relay will work. Or upgrade to a lithium with dc-dc and be done with it.... That's the best option.
Running off the EF D2 reliably is a problem as the 12v output is regulated 12v@8A and will cause you issues on...
I was wondering if leaving it on default mattered, seems not.
I thought my starterbattery was past it’s best, but fitting the Ablemail seems to have helped. Van’s been on the drive all weekend, starterbattery is showing 12.3v, 160Ah Roamer leisure is 13.39. It’s a very dull day so only...
If you’ve got a multimeter it would be a good idea to check the voltage of the starterbattery then at any connections from there to the Orion (e.g. either side of the fuse) without the ignition on and then with the van running.
Are you having problems starting due to a flat battery? How are...
Fair enough. Thanks for advice. Will ask about the state of the starterbattery as first point of call at service later this week. Beyond that will explore feasibility of switching the supply.
Wonder how many others on here have trackers powered by leisure battery rather than starterbattery...
...have tried it close up without the van running, have you tried another phone or device to rule out Bluetooth issues?
I had the same starterbattery anxiety until I wired in (very simple process) an Ablemail AMT 12-2 battery trickle charger/maintainer.
It may well be that your starterbattery...
...if you ask most suppliers, they will take your reg and supply you like for like, so they wont generally give you an option to upsize. also your tyre garage is talking out of their ass, VW also need the batteries coded - here is how its done using VCDS. - Upgrading StarterBattery - how to guide
