Final test numbers are in . . .
+++++++++++++++
i shut off the test at 12% because that's low enough for me. . . and running lithium's very low is not great for there health.
so 100% to 12% in a day and a half - exactly as the numbers and estimate worked out.
this box will drain itself...
The last few days I’ve updated the electrics in our van, installed a second 100 ah lithium battery, bus bars, remote controlled 1500 watt inverter, fused all positive leads and a battery isolation switch.
I’ve also paneled the sides of our van king bed and covered with stretch carpet.
Im waiting...
I don’t currently have solar and to be honest 230Ah lithium will likely last me any normal trip I do with no charging. I don’t have an inverter so basically my draw is minimal. Fridge, lights, heater, phone charging. Usual stuff. This will be to charge it at home before trips. If my missus is...
I have checked my SB fuse and it is a 50 amp and also my LB is 50amp so I will have to change them for 60 amp.
I can’t get the setting up that you are showing with lithium battery showing.
I’ve boiled a kettle off my inverter, put my headlights and spot lights on full switched the heater to...
Hello all,
I am working up courage to swap split charge relay with a Victron DC to DC and Ablemail 12-2.
I only currently have a 75 sized leisure battery. So was thinking of changing that too for a bigger capacity.
This is all under driver seat (impacted by diesel heater dusting).
I have...
Simple answer is yes.
A 1000w inverter will pull 80-100A under full load.
That your AGM will be able to handle for short durations.
So seeing as you say you will only use low wattage loads, and that you plan to upgrade to lithium is say you are good to go.
Follow the user guide on cable type...
Yeh. But it depends on your power source running the inverter.
Have you got enough power to run the inverter for the time needed?
We run a Roamer 230ah lithium battery, on a Renogy 1000w inverter, and recharge from a 50A Renogy dc-dc charger, and have 400w mobile solar during summer.
My tv works on both 12v and 240 on EHU.
So the inverter would only give me power to plug external things into?
Which would still be really handy. So would still be nice to have and install when I’m upgrading everything else. I could take my ps5 away :D
So what are the main components that I...
Why Roamer and Victron?
Our batteries have always worked well with Victron chargers and inverters but the new SMART4 plug-and-play Victron communication makes this integration even better. Simply link your SMART4 battery bank to a Victron GX device (eg Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX) and all internal...
It all depends on how clever the battery is. Some batteries have all the magicary built in, so they monitor their own State Of Charge (SOC) and you read this via an app & Bluetooth. Other batteries are dumb & need managing externally via a 3rd party device, e.g. a shunt. So the answer is… it...
Hi @Dellmassive
i have a 120ah agm battery that's charged by a victron dc-dc and a 175w renogy panel on the roof with victron mppt.
I mostly use this to run typical camper power vitrifrigo fridge, led lights and phone charging.
I want to add an inverter, mostly for low wattage use to start...
We have the Vango Sizzle double (currently £129 @ GoOutdoors) and are very pleased with it. Comes with a nice canvas carry bag which protects the surface when stowing it away. We use it in the awning, and on our recent visit to the Quiet Site in the Lakes used it in their camper's kitchen, which...
it can be done, but it will cost you.
as above portable battery packs are no good - recharge times are too slow off grid.
++
you need twin lithium's 100ah+100ah + 2/3kw inverter + 50A dc-dc charger + cable and install,
then the extras, EHU charger, solar system.
then the cooking bit...
In this video at about 3:40 Greg goes through how to calculate the size of battery you'll need.
If you haven't already done it, you'll need to know what you want to power, how long you want to power it for and how much juice each item will use. Will you be off grid for weeks or using EHU every...
I would deffo be running the engine while charging that box at 1500w.... Using the 2000w inverter on the van.
That way you are using diesel energy to charge your box, but also not killing your leisure battery at the same time.
Id imaging your battery box has an app that allows you too change...
Just to give some perspective. We have an all singing all dancing setup. Lithium/solar/EHU/inverter yada yada! Since the electric kettle died, we hardly use EHU (just done 10 days in Scotland off grid) the solar/Lithium/gas takes care of all our needs. OK, so you may have to alter your habits a...
I'm looking to install an EHU hookup point under the bonnet next to the starter battery, very similar to @Deaky solution earlier in this thread.
My plan would be to also install a 3 pin hookup plug and ip67 rated consumer unit under the bonnet, then run a single cable through the existing...
ok thanks I won’t bother with the 2000w inverter. It will be too much for the occasional use it would get.
So I’m looking to get the biggest lithium battery I can afford,
Replace the split charge with a B2B charger,
And upgrade the solar charger to MPPT
The Sargent is used for my fuses as well...
