I’ve just had similar issue, but the blockage has cause the EGRpipe to split sending exhaust fumes into the cab, it’s been pretty horrendous. Mines a 67 plate but seems this is a common issue tho my first time! Kinda weird people talking about supermarket diesel. I’ve ran diesels for 20 years...
mine has been into VW several times over the last 18mnth, sometimes for weeks at a time!
this week it's back in for the same issue. However before I put into VW, I got RAC to look at it as the EML issue was annoying, 2 mins under the bonnet at the guy says the EGR link pipe is split which is...
Must be known problem because my 67 plate went in for its 1st service today, 23000 miles, year and a half old.
The technician has noted leaking flywheel bolts and egrpipesplit.
Under warranty but to see an oil leak on a service and say the gearbox has got to come out? They are aware of an...
It's no secret that my T6 is used every day, up and down the UK racking up the miles. I was also one of the first to find the EGR Flexi-pipesplit issue because of this.
So am I looking at the next fault with the T6? Maybe I'm just unlucky, but I feel as it's not something I've read about on...

try as @Tourershine suggested above...
Is that the metal pipe on the back of the engine that splits and hisses air when you blip the throttle?
What tar remover did you use? We use Autoglym Tar and glue remover, and it makes short work of tar spots. It's a simple spray a panel, leave for 1 min, and wipe off the spots.
Thanks mate, that makes it a little easier knowing it's not just mine.
Oddly enough, it was around 30k that my first one went, and it's now on 54k that the 2nd one has gone. It's not a huge deal, but looks like this part is going to almost be a service item at those intervals.
