Yeah you'd get the same issue, it's not an issue with the fridge.
The most likely cause of the issue will be the cable run from leisure battery to 12v socket. Passengerseat to boot could be 5 or 6 metres, so 7 or 8 metres with the fridge cable. And I'd almost guarantee it's 1.5mm or similar...
Good idea with the terminals , thanks
and yes i’m hoping to cable everything underneath and drop the cables
I haven’t carpeted anything yet as I’m going to trial it first before I box it all in
I’ve done them underseat before but always thought this space was wasted and i’d like to keep my...
Shorter cable runs for a high current draw like an inveter make good sense, but my battery DC-DC charger/fuse box & amp were already under the drivers so I had to really use the passengerunderseat space in mine for the inverter.
This also means it has plenty of air circulation for cooling the...
Keep away from them MC4 connectors, they are designed for use in houses and the plugs are a bit of a shit to get undone, theres a specific tool that helps but they are not designed for constant connecting/disconnecting
I would just assess what power you are looking to put through the cable...
I did my install slightly different to the book, as we plan to fit a leisure battery at some point. I brought a fused thick battery cable through behind the battery to under the drivers seat and fitted a threaded connection post. This is where we plan to fit the leisure battery. I then shortened...
It's just due to the long length of cable between the starter battery and under the passengerseat, you're looking at a few metres, and with the DC-DC bring connected to both the SB and LB you've got 2 sources of potential power if that cable is short circuited.
If you did change your mind on...
Sorry to resurrect this post!
Wire #3, looks to be around 10mm in size and routes to under the passengerseat, fused at 100A.
Could this be larger than 10mm? It seems the rating of a thin walled 10mm cable is 70A, and 16mm around 110A.
We’re these photos taken from a T6 or a T6.1 or would they...
Hi,
Currently considering adding solar.
On the van already -
RSCDC30 with MPPT built in. Mounted under drivers seat.
110ah Battery UnderPassengers Seat
EC155 Sargent charger unit
SCA Pop top
I assume all I need is a Flexy solar panel, correct glands and an inline fuse?
With that in mind...
I tried to tidy the cables under my passengerseat the other week. I've seen loads of videos on YouTube of people stuffing the connectors under the carpet with ease. I tried it, and like you, there's nowhere for the cables to go.
I was thinking about mounting them to the inside of the seat...
Got a big chunk of the work done today!
Firstly you'll need to take the plastic undertrays off to access everything, then it's time to follow and strip all the wires...
There was a wire running from the ramp up under the passengerseat, under the carpet, and the along the underside of the...
We have a T6 van which is going to be used for transporting dogs about as we have more dogs then our current caddy can carry
To keep them cool i have fitted a roof fan (thread to follow)
This will be the only extra stuff that is electric that will be fitted to the van so i see no need to go...
12v socket is by tailgate and leisure battery under front passengerseat. I'll check cable tomorrow - it's the one that came with the fridge. Not sure I can change the cable as the socket to the fridge is not a standard one. Do you think the problem would persist with a new fridge?
Nice work, I'm dreading adding my MTTP. That channel where the loom goes under your Orion, how easy do you think it would be to push cables through to the passengerseat. I might have to put the MTTP under there if I don't have enough room.
Because I want to use the parking mode on the highly sensitive setting, it also often sits for quite some time, so I try and keep as much as possible away from the main battery. BTW it works really well a light tap on the windows is all it takes to start recording.
I also prefer to keep any 3rd...
So I had a Positive/ Battery feed that had been cut off under the double seat, this I trace and it went through the passenger side footwell into the wing and reappeared near the battery through a hole that I believe was made to accommodate this cable.
The second positive/Battery cable ran from...
Alas I'm still not sure about how the factory set up the split charging for the second battery, as I plan to fit a Smart charger system under the drivers seat I have pulled both the 60W and 100W fuse, removed the relays, removed the leisure battery and the cable to the main battery. Still left...
If you are fitting NS enclosure, that is the most direct route from passengerseat. If off side enclosure you can go under driver seat and into B pillar then under window to rear wheel arch:thumbsup:
I thought about panel replacement also. So I’ve order 3m of pv cable with the MC4 connectors on it and will leave the panels connections tied up underneath the panel.
