steering controls

I’ve bought the JVC head unit to replace the stock one that came in the van so I could use Apple CarPlay. I ordered a kit of eBay which came with a 42cx401 can interface. The JVC unit has a remo in via a 3.2mm jack. Everything seems to work but the steering controls. I’ve followed the manuals...
