unknown switch

Post conversion question. From a newbie. Does anyone know what this light is for? Red led stays on constantly when ignition is on or off. Solid light, and (what it looks like) two silver connectors/prongs. Insert looks too big for the key. Taken switch out to see if there are any branding, but...
