Hi I’m about to purchase a 22 plate 2.l TD
It’s a 110 and 5 gears . She’ll drive to Scotland and Europe the only time she will have weight is when I take a lambretta in the back. My only concern is power.
Not looking for mad speed just no issues driving to Italy and back.
Looking for some knowledgeable input
Many thanks

There are "wants" and there are "needs".
A 110 T6 with a Lambretta in the back will cruise at the speed limit all day long very happily, so you won't need more power.
"Wants" are very different......

Only you will know if it's right for you.

I have a 110 with 300kg of camper conversion permntly aboard and whilemits no ball of lighting I'm not sheeting myself every time I pull out into a gap I the traffic. It's perfectly adequate and consistently gives mid 40s MPG driven sensibly.

Others freak out with such small numbers and insist on the more powerful versions. Conversely, I ride a Hayabusa and none of the Transporters feels remotely quick after riding that - just different degrees of slow.

So only you will know. I'd be more than happy with a 110 for the use you're planning, others wouldn't. Go try a couple and see what you think for yourself.

If you travelled at 69mph she could get a brew on and set up camp for when you arrived and brushed off the flies from your visor. Teeth as well if your a jet and goggle wearer! ;)

Only wore a jet and goggles once and that was the last time, being caught out by hail stones at emm 70mph was like having my face peeled with grit paper and goggles are not very good in the winter at staying fog free unlike visors

I took my 102 T28 to the South of France and back with no issues. Held its own on the autoroute even with a mid- weight conversion. Have faith

A 6-speed box might make for marginally more relaxed motorway cruising, but all engines, regardless of their power output, will get you where you need to go (and back again)... with the exception of a pre-2019 bi-turbo, which will almost certainly ingest itself at some point during the journey. :grin bounce:

Got 110 5 speed cant say i notice its down on power, certainly not at motorway speeds will sit at 70 and above no problem return 40mpg the gearing ok its not screaming for another gear cruise happily

My van is also 110 5 speed and as others have said cruises all day long at motorway speeds the only thing with mine is 34 mpg but after having up to 4.5 ton motorhomes at 25 mpg I’m quite happy.
