Pair of 1200N tailgate struts for sale.

fitted for about 2 weeks when I had my bike rack on.

They’re too strong for my setup, as I’ve only got a bike rack, which is not that heavy.

What bike rack have you got? I got the Fiamma T6 Pro 2 bike rack and had to upgrade from the 1050 struts to the 1200s to stop the door dropping under the weight of the rack

It’s the standard VW one with 4 bikes. I find that the 1200’s are way too urgent for me. It feels like I have to do chin-ups to close the boot.

I’ve just got some 985’s rather than the factory 950’s (which do hold it open, but only just).

My 1200s hold the door up with the bike on it!
And it is a heave to get down without the rack on...

When I put my vw bike rack on the standard 900s were fine until weather got colder, at which point the door would drop at random points, couple of close calls and a headache later I put 1200s on, yes takes some effort to close but hasn't been a problem since
