If you'd of happily paid £1400 for some from VW, your budget is pretty healthy.
Have you considered the Sportline wheels? There's several variations and sold through the forum shop here Alloys & Tyres

I'm sure yours is White from memory, and they look awesome with Black Sportlines and a subtle 30-50mm lowering.

Sorry for updating such an old thread but I came across a set of these wheels (bi-color Dakar) listed for about £300. Of course the are used (seller bought them in 2015) but they look in really good shape. I was looking for options to get a set of winter wheels.
I see some think they're awful, but I think they look quite well in a black van, like mine.
Do you think it can be a reasonable deal?

If they're in excellent condition I think so, they're cheap enough. If they have been knocked about, then no.

Those wheels are £380 each, new from VW. Most people want the sportline wheels, so command a high second hand price. These seem a good price, as long as they aren’t buckled or cracked. And they would suit a black vehicle. Does that include any tyres??
