Chucking this up a month in advance as my Golf is due early October. Van won’t be available until 28th September but might as well get it out there.
I’ve owned the van from new, I specced it as a factory order in January 2018 and took delivery 1st June.
T28 panel van SWB
6 speed manual TSI 150 petrol engine
Candy white
Factory options:
LED headlights and tail lights
Glazed tailgate
Swivel driver and single passenger seats
Carpet cab
Delete heated windscreen - there was a shortage when I ordered. Chose to take a standard screen with £400 discount rather than wait.
Dealer fitted Eibach 30mm lowering springs fitted before delivery
I have had the following done:
Slidepods Eclipse sound deadening, insulation and carpet package. Done September 2018
RIB 150 cm fixed seat / bed installed by ClearCut Conversions in June 2021
1 peice CNCd ply floor supplied by Eclipse Custom Vans. Installed by myself with blue altro.
Momo Revenge Matt anthracite 18” Alloys with Michelin CrossClimate 235/55/18 - decent tread remaining
In July 2021 someone went into the back of it in crawling traffic. The tailgate and bumper were replaced by their insurance. I had CamperGlass privacy glass installed instead of removing the OEM glass from the damaged tailgate.
Mileage is just over 48k, will see another thousand or so in the next month.
Bad bits:
The tailgate is dented over the rear brake light - thanks to a sloping tree. Parking sensors sensed the base of it, I didn’t see the angle . It has passed 2 MOTs like that. I’ve had quotes of around £600 to repair it but haven’t had it done.
A dent on the sliding door - not sure how it happened and not obvious unless you look at it.
A few chips in the windscreen - way over on the passenger side. Again has passed several MOTs with them. Haven’t had the screen replaced as never know what will get fitted by insurance companies.
The good bits:
It’s a TSI which is not particularly common. So no DPF, adblue etc. it is Euro6.
LED headlights. Probably the main bugbear people find and want to upgrade
Has been serviced every year / 8k miles by VW
Passed all MOTs
Major service and MOT done this May
It has VW all in plan with 19 months remaining. Has one MOT and a minor service still to use. I will pay off the balance of the plan and transfer to new owner.
I’ve owned it from new and been used as my daily driver and occasional camper. Will include levelling blocks, front and rear screens with it
I have a figure of £27 k in my head. It’s quite hard to gauge as the TSI vans are so rare - have a look on Autotrader to see how many are available. If I am way off in pricing then I guess time will tell.
Again it wouldn’t be available until the end of September as got a few trips planned and new car doesn’t arrive until October.
Will get some decent pictures when it’s had a good clean
