After having a good read through an article posted on another thread :
(its in German but if you read it in Chrome you can choose English translation)
I was wondering if it is possible to roll-back this software update?
Although my T6 has a 150 bhp (CXFA) engine, which has less issues (I hope) that the 204 CXEB, I hope to keep the van for a long time so am now seriously thinking about EGR delete, and if possible, having the 23Z7 software rolled back.
It is suggested that the 23Z7 software was VW's response to 'diesel gate' and I remember in 2019 it was applied to my van without me asking.
At the time I did ask if I could have it removed, as after asking what it did, I was told it changed the emissions control and as such I would need to be ready to fill up the AdBlue more often...
VW even gave me vouchers for free AdBlue top ups at any VW dealership (that alone made me suspicious..!)
According to the article linked above, software update 23Z7 is suspected of :
"the level of the exhaust gas recirculation rate in particular has been significantly increased"
This is certainly putting an additional strain on the EGR and associated systems. Of course the increased amount of gas recirculation is likely to be causing issues elsewhere and probably engine damage (among other design floors with our EA288 engines) . Looking at the some of the intake manifolds people are having to replace, things look very wrong..!
Does anyone know, as part of a remap or software EGR delete, if it is possible to roll the software back to pre 23Z7 ?
