3rd brake light on barn doors -how do I change black part

Hi all

Trying to change left hand upper brake light. Taking the plastic cover off, pulled the light unit off too, but can’t work out how to get my new light unit into the black plastic casing. The 2 metal connectors won’t fit in.

So, what I really need to do is take the black plastic casing out and replace it all. Should I just keep levering it? Can’t seem to get it out.

Can you show us a photo of the bits. Mine came as a complete unit - black rear casing, clear light unit and red lens.

Have you undone the 2 bolts on the rear, inside the door ?

Ah right, no I’ve not undone those!

Mine came as a complete unit too, just I unclipped front from the black part to see if I could fit it that way.

I’ve undone them. Did you just lever the base part out then?

It just popped out I think. Try putting the 2 screws back in about 1 turn, then push on them towards the rear of the vehicle.
