4 motion, dsc and acc fault after hitting puddle

Hi all, we are currently in the scottish highlands in our van. On Tuesday I hit a deep puddle and almost instantly got the following faults-
ACC fault (! On display when cruise selected)
DSC fault (skidmark warning light)
4 motion fault (difflock light on)

There are several faults on carista which won't clear and the 10a difflock mini fuse has blown

When I replaced the mini fuse I get a smell of hot wiring and the fuse blows within a few seconds.

Has anyone had any experience of this and know where to start looking. I am guessing water has got in somewhere but not sure where?? It's had a couple of days to dry out but still no joy

I'm afraid there are at least two separate failures....

I would start checking why there is no communication with Haldex-controller - most likely wiring problem under vehicle.

Most likely the disconnected Haldex-controller is causing "sympathy faults" at ACC

While under van please check also wiring around AdBlue tank and especially into the AdBlue injector in DPF.
Not exactly sure about this one because Carista doesn't always interpret codes correctly. The suspect fault code is 0259 in ACC (strange!?)



Anyways, the first task is get Haldex-controller back on line and see if the (3) is relevant any more.

Thanks guys, the van has had a stop start fault since I got it in January but that has never bothered me and also an occasional egr low flow fault.
But the acc, dsc and 4 motion all came on at the same time when I hit the puddle so hopefully they are linked.

When I try replacing the 10a (33 i think, 5 fuse down in middle row but dont have fusecard) difflock fuse I get a smell of hot wiring and the fuse pops within a few seconds

Looks like I need to get under the van when I get home. Where is the controller for the awd located?

All sorted. Traced the fault to a overheated plug connector on a vacuum solenoid in front of the adblue tank. It looks as though the wiring has rubbed through and shorted itself when it got wet out just before the plug, this has melted the plug causing a more permanent short and thats why it didnt go away when it dried out. At the moment the wire is disconnected and insulated and all the faults have cleared.
Need to get a new solenoid and plug kit to do a permanent fix

oh yes, a bit of a result. Priced up bits and it's about £30 in parts. Could have been a lot worse. Who would have thought a bit of a puddle could cause so many faults. Bit scary when you are 400 miles from home with hardly any tools and the dash lights up like a Christmas tree
