4Motion rear shaft popped out of diff

Hi!,
I was changing the rear springs on my t6 syncro and while shoving the trailing arm down to pop my spring out, there was a "clonk" and the driveshaft seems to have popped out of the diff slightly causing some gear oil to leak out (only a few drips)
Does this just "shove" back in?

Well I shoved it back in - the drive flange moved about 10mm. I changed the rest of the springs and drove 18 miles home, nothing seems to have exploded and there's no more oil leak.
It lost a few tablespoons full so I'll replace the diff oil next week when I do the haldex stuff.

Most vehicles I’ve worked on don’t have a ‘retained’ driveshaft at the differential. Its just the position of the suspension components that hold it in.

Also, if you think about it, as the suspension moves up and down the distance between the diff and hub can alter slightly, so the loose fitting at the diff end takes up this movement on the splines.
