Adding rear usb sockets

I’m looking to add usb sockets on the rear of my drivers seat, what’s the best way of getting to the fusebox under the steering wheel.

Under the flooring and up the plastic trim ?

If you have rubber flooring then driver seat and base out then lift flooring and run wire.
Or run wire from fusebox across steering column and under the trim near the step.
