Advice Please Suspension Problem New LFT kit fitted

I've just had a THQ So Low LFT kit fitted by my local VW Audi specialist garage along with the diff spacer kit, new H&R ARBs, new drop links, and all the other suspension bits. During my first trip on holiday yesterday I could feel an occasional 'bumping' or 'thudding' kind of sound kinda like someone has left a tool somewhere and it's rattling around under my pedals. Anyway I've spotted some black / grey oil leaking down onto my offside front mudflap. I'm on holiday with it at moment in north wales so I'm going to take to a local garage for them to inspect, fix, test and adjust etc. Does anyone have experience with this kind of fault or have a good idea as to what the problem is please? I'm a bit upset at my local garage as I also lost a wheel lug less than 100miles after collecting my van and when I check torqued the rest of the lugs they were loose.

Hi mate yeah i spotted a small split in the boot. Have managed to get it booked in at a local garage tomorrow morning which is lucky as the first 6 or so I called are fully booked until end of April. I've already bought the replacement boots and grease for them and I'm hoping it's just the loss of the grease that's causing the occasional knocking/thudding sound and not a broken CV joint.

I had a nightmare trying to get a garage that would take on any work when we were in Wales.
Good that you have the parts as that's another excuse I was getting.
let them regrease the joint , fit the new boot and test drive it.
Check all the wheel nuts and report your findings to the garage that did the original work .

Thanks. I'll do that and get the mechanics opinion on it as well. I only got the van a month ago approved used from a VW dealer so if it's more than just a grease and boot fit I'll dig out the warranty.

I've never changed a boot on our van and had it 10 years ....I have changed our suspension out personally and had to be super careful not to catch the boots while doing it .
Proving they've done it is another matter.
I'd tell the garage that on your made voyage after leaving them you experienced an occasional knocking noise, on arrival at your destination you found a wheel bolt missing and grease all over your front offside wheel .
And wait for their response.

I assume that the lift kit wasn't fitted by the same garage that you bough it from?
You might have trouble convincing the dealer that the lift kit installation hasn't caused any of these issues.

So quick update. The CV has been cleaned, regreased and the boot has been replaced, but the bumping/knocking noise is still there and it was not the CV as I first thought. It's drives lovely on smooth road above 40mph, but the bumping / knocking noise only really occurs at low speed on uneven surface. I'm going to try and get the ARBs and suspension looked at by someone in Ruthin or Wrexham but at least the CV and wheel bearings are OK.

Were the drop links tightened up properly?
(Bearing in mind that the wheel studs weren't!)
I'd try tightening the drop links up, they do have to be very tight.
