October is now start of build. Won't get her back until mid November. November is usually pretty miss and miss

Popped to a conversion company yesterday just getting a few ideas and prices etc. got told they are now booking into mid Feb. plenty of time to save up for shiny toys.
Your situation is annoying, Our summers tend to be later in the year but I don't think they are that late. fingers crossed its worth the wait.

We might have struck lucky. There has been a cancellation and we've been put back in our original spot. Might have the conversion done in time for the wife's birthday yet (which would be useful as I'll have no money to buy a present)
Do what I did last year before I got the bed fitted and put an inflatable matteress in the back to sleep on! It didn't stop me going away down south. It was a real shock to the system going from a fully converted T5 to sleeping on the floor but we got used to it.
That's actually what I'm doing tonight, but that's just crashing out after a stag do! No way I'm creating in the back of the van with wife and two kids though!
We'll get another season from the old tent. At least packing will be easier
