Alternative to carpet…rear panels?

So….I attempted to make a single large ply panel for the rear section above the wheel arches. I only had the stock bottom section for a template, so I had to wing it…..and ended up cutting it too short!

I’ve decided to go two panels instead and have done the lower half.

It just got me thinking…shall I just carpet directly onto the thermal layer? Or has anyone done anything fancy? They will be on show (no cupboards).

Pics appreciated!
Thanks

These are some images from my notes and plans

Inset shelves with lighting - not comfy to lean on in U shape layout

Two tone or minimal style if I can't get a full panel cut right

A porthole because why not! also consider a gun rack or a taxidermy animal head...

Vertical wood style in sheet form or tongue and groove - very difficult to get perfect (order fine jigsaw blade)
