Android Auto

I have searched and searched online and tried 100s of different things to get my Spotify to play through android auto.

I was just wondering if many others have had the same issue? resolved or unresolved?

I'm on a community forum for android and there seems to be 1000s of others with the same issue but with different vehicles.

I have a 2020 T6.1 and I have to use a cable to connect to the app, sound through google maps works but nothing for Spotify.

Thank You.

I have an android head unit, connect my phone via a cable (so it charges as well) and Spotify works perfectly, as does Waze, reading out Whatsapp messages etc. It’s in my Boxster, not my T6.

it says its playing but no sound, its driving me crazy !

At the bottom of the page on Spotify, where the track is plalying, there’s a symbol like a speaker. Press that and make sure you’ve selected your headunit. Mine sometimes gets confused if I have paired headphones nearby.

tried mate thank you, still nothing.

Worth double checking your detailed volume settings (on the head unit) - technically Android has different audio channels so things like media playback and announcements are recognised as different things.

Also check your volume reduction settings (on the head unit) for announcements.

I'm wondering if in certain situations either the Spotify audio is not recognised as media, or if you have navigation software running it's not closing the announcement audio and that is suppressing the media volume.

Do other things that should do media playback work - for instance something like the BBC Sounds app or the phones built in media player if you upload and MP3 to it?
