Another MFSW thread... T6 Euro 5

Hi all, There are so many great threads about MSFW retrofits, I'm confusing myself trying to take notes for my setup.

I picked up my T6 recently. A previous owner had already fitted a multifunction steering wheel, but none of the buttons work. The horn still functions.
The previous owner (a relative) handed down the same Kufatec cable set (Kufatec 41427) he received from the original owner.

The van:
  • 2015 T6
  • CAAB Engine (Euro 5)
  • Manual gearbox
  • Trendline trim
  • Cruise Control (Not Adaptive)
  • TRIP and CC on spokes
  • Bog-standard stereo (Part 1K8035150E)
The wheel:
  • Not sure what vehicle it's taken from Update: Part 5G0419091 - appears to be from a Golf Mk7
  • Flat-bottom
  • Has Adaptive Cruise Control button

I guess my question is, if I wire it up and code it, what (if anything) will work?

Being a novice, there's a few thing I don't understand from the Kufatec description:

  • For engine code letters CAAA, CAAB. CAAC. CFCA only MFA+Radio operation via MFL possible
Multi-Function Something?
  • For engine code letters CAAA, CAAB. CAAC. CFCA GRA Operation only via steering column switch
GRA - I think that's a German acronyms for Cruise Control? I take that to mean none of the Cruise Control settings will work on the MFSW, I've seen a few talks of a CC Emulator to allow for function from both.

  • Furthermore, you need the following components:
    • ...
    • Control unit Highline (if not already installed)
I'm not sure what a highland control unit is.

Any help would be appreciated. Also any opinions: is this even worth the effort? (previous owners obviously didn't think so!)

Those buttons are not compatable with a T6. They won’t work.

That would explain why this mod never got completed, I suspect the original owner picked up the parts before realising it wouldn’t work.

It bugs me having inoperable buttons. I wonder if it’s cheaper to source the correct buttons, or if a blanking plate exists…
