Anti roll bar dust cover missing.

I’ve just had an mot failure for anti roll bar ball joint dust cover missing offside front 5.3.4 b.

I’ve just bought a brand new linkage and taken the wheel off but I’m not sure what’s missing.
Any help please?

Only thing I can think of is maybe a split in the cover. I can’t see one but I haven’t been thorough as I’m not on a ramp.

A split shouldn’t be a failure as far as I’m aware.

It'd be a fail if the split is big enough to not longer stop ingress of dirt.

Maybe your pics are mirrored. Are you checking the passenger side?

If it’s a Minor as in ‘Severely Deteriorated’ it shouldn’t have failed. That said MOT Testers are like football referee’s you can argue as long as you like but the outcomes the same.
