Not aware of any particular deals, but Tayna are my usual goto for batteries. Good prices & excellent service.

If that's your price range I'd stretch to a LiFePo - you'll get double the usable capacity and much longer lifetime.

£380 gets you the very popular Fogstar 105Ah.

Was looking at this LiFePo4 battery:

anyone rate it? is it a cheaper version of Renogy ? site looks similar.
Unsure how I feel about sitting a battery down flat rather than standing up :/

The eco-worthy doesn't have low temp charge protection so if you go for that one, make sure whatever DC-DC and MPPT you fit does have a low temp charge cut off. Charging a LiFePO4 battery when it's below zero degrees is a BIG no.

Also, that battery has been on offer a couple of times recently at £180.

Renogy DCC50S, dont think think that does :/
Yeh seen offered, but none vaild just now, can get it for £209 on amazon just now...

on hold on maybe it does....
"If the service battery type is set to lithium, the DCC50S will stop charging the service battery when its temperature is lower than 1˚C, and recover to charge when it's higher than 3˚C. The DCC50S utilizes Maximum Power Point Tracking technology to extract maximum power from the solar module(s)."

Excellent, as I say that's not an optional thing, you need it. All it takes is one cold winter sunny day, or a morning start up when it's freezing and you'll have all sorts of issues if the battery starts charging!

Vs the fogstar you'll missing out on a heater (the fogstar will heat itself when it's cold to allow for charging) and a Bluetooth BMS so you can check the exact SOC, amps in/out etc. oh and a longer warranty.

Whether that's worth the extra £150 is up to you.

The EcoWorthy are competent basic batteries but with the general falling prices the Fogstar I'd rate as better value. Having the temperature cutoff in the battery is much safer and the heater means it will charge in low temperatures.

£150 is just over a tank of fuel in most places, yet you'll have a much better electrical system over the life of your van.

If you're running the 50A charger then my advice is to back it off to 30A or even 20A for every day use, it's much kinder to the batteries and everything will run cooler but you can still open the taps if you need rapid charging when off grid for a few days.

Fogstar have the 105ah Drift on sale a couple of times a year for £299 if you can hang on. I got mine at that price during Black Friday and saw it at that price again about a month ago. It’s definitely worth it over the EcoWorthy in my opinion.

yeh I think the fogstar is good, just price, will hold off and see if any special prices come up, but doubt it as all sellers seem to be pre order only :/
might look at a agm or something cheap just now until i get forstar then...

If you stick a fogstar battery in your basket, then go through the checkout and put in your details, email etc, then don't complete the checkout, you might get a 5% off code emailed to you... ;)

It's only £20 off a 105Ah but it all helps!
