Any idea what this cable could be for?

Evening all. I have an electrical cable of some sort rolled up under my hob/sink. Does anyone have any idea what it could be for? I don't know if it has any volts running to it but am curious what I could use it for if it is live.

The writing on the white cable could mean it is an ethernet cable, probably for a router.

Good spot. White cable ethernet and black cable potential power source for router?
Possibly. But the interesting question is what is at the other end of the ethernet cable if this end would go to the router?

that's a good point. May need to follow this cable through van and find the other end

Do you have one of the Sterling type "All In One" EHU and 12v power systems?

Because that looks like one of the quick fit type connectors I've seen used on those types of panels. Take care as some of them are 240v and we've seen "spare" but live cables tucked behind cabinets and panels before on the forum.

Ethernet type cable is often used to connect to control systems too, not just networking gear, as it's a commodity priced twisted pair cable.

Not sure what the EHU system is. I should probably find out. If the cable is live and 240v what should I do with it? Leave it as it is or can it be used to power something.

Don't lick it!

I'd say leave it be, if you've never had use for it, leave it where it is. I'm currently in the process of tidying my wiring up. I found a lot of cables doing nothing too.

Electric Hook Up

Just seen this in another thread, your black wire looks like the power supply to a sargeant unit
Thanks. Final question, could I bypass the Sargent system

Hi, can I please confirm that if I locate the black cable above (Fridge feed MCB 3) then I should wire the IP22 as shown below? How would I specifically connect the IP22 to the 3 pin plug shown below, would I need to fit a 3 pin connector to the IP22 that fits to the existing plug or can I use a different connection method?
