Any negatives to carpeting a single ply piece?

Hello, looking to carpet the whole ply piece once I’ve installed the window behind the drivers seat. Obviously van needs insulating etc before carpeting. Any reason why I shouldnt do this? I see a lot of people cut into the reveals in the walls

I'm deliberating the same. I think I am going to remove the ply and cover it out of the van then refit just to tidy it up a bit leaving the remaining metal bare as mine is a work van cum weekend doss van. Thinking I might do the remaining metal work at a later date in a slighter darker colour.

Are you fitting a window into the bulkhead? Got a link?

Yes defo cover it out of the van, think ill ply straight over the metal reveals so its one flat smooth piece. All my windows are from Van Windows & Van Glass | Tinted Privacy Van Windows | Camper Glass everybody i know buys them from here.
