I would like to fit a sub in the passenger seat base. However I can't work out what to do with all the electrical gubbins thats there. I have been told to put all these bits under the mat, however I cant find anywhere on here, or youtube or the internet in general showing how this is done Is mine wont fit there (even if I remove those 6 bits from the bracket).Screenshot 2023-10-18 at 08.50.03.png

I tried to tidy the cables under my passenger seat the other week. I've seen loads of videos on YouTube of people stuffing the connectors under the carpet with ease. I tried it, and like you, there's nowhere for the cables to go.

I was thinking about mounting them to the inside of the seat base in the gap between the sub box and base. Not sure if it'll work or not though!

Will they go down the sides of the sub enclosure, near the top of the seat base. I have my towing module and DSP down the sides of mine. You'll have to take the couplings out of the frame.

I had a look, but it seemed a few too many. Plus the huge chunky wire bundle will impeded the sub movement. I managed it in the drivers seat base, but want to install a heater outlet there.

Will they not fit behind the box but within the frame of the seat base? I can't recall what the OE plastic trim looks like but I made a couple of panels to cover the rear of my seats after putting all my electrical bits in there. This was quite thick plywood if I recall so could certainly be made thinner.

Not sure to be honest, the box fills the seat base pretty well though. Will need to have a look.

If they are out of the frame many folks get the couplers tucked into that channel in the floor, I think you have to pull some of the loom back into the bit of the channel that's in the gap to give you room.

Our 10 “ sub enclosure will allow those cables to be tucked towards each side , no need to put them under carpet where they can get damp

Thanks, mine is a 12" sub. Is upwards facing sub better than down?
There doesn't look much room by the sides of that sub.
I will give you a call today. May need to change hardware a bit.

There’s a cover that goes over the top

Yes it's a 10" sub. I cut my enclosure short at the back so I could mount the amp under the seat too but there is plenty of space down the sides.

Base was easy to carpet and looks loads better than the painted version

I think I've also seen that you put a flat front on the base rather than a slope to gain some room @Deaky or was that someone else?

I nipped the corners off so it would push a bit further forward. You can see my front is angular where as normally it would be straight. I only did this to mount my amp on the back of the sub enclosure because I had nowhere else to fit it.

Thanks again, just measured my sub, its also 10". My mistake. The box definitely looks wider than yours though.
I wish I had space to mount the amp there.
