Are Kombi windows secure?

Not with regards the rain, I'm already resigned to welcoming THAT in when it pours, but in terms of break-ins

If equipment is stored in the load bay, is it easy for someone to gain access through the windows? I wanted the option of night time ventilation but now concerned about the flimsy looking thief-door...

If they want it they will smash the glass regardless. I had after market openers in my previous panel van conversion and had no issues over the five years i had it . Looking at my sliders from the factory i have no concerns .Just use the usual common sense and keep things out of sight or out the van if possible.

With regard to leaking mine did, but I took it to local VW dealer they videoed the van being jet washed to show the leak and have just replaced a full window under warranty.

@bullock if you want night time ventilation, just get some wind deflectors and have your windows at the front cracked open, It works for me.

My sliding door one leaks. My van has to go in for her visual check soon and I am going to mention it. Only appears to leak when I open the door though so going to have a look at that drain hole.
