Auto light sensor adjustment?

I guess this isn't something I can do without a trip to the dealer if at all but my LED headlights come on when set at auto if the weather is marginally cloudy or I drive in the shade of some trees - seems like the sensor is way too sensitive. Not sure if its on the same sensor but the Discover Nav changes to night setting on a cloudy day too. Anyone have the same issue?

Yeah, I get the same. not looked at how to sort, might have a look at the vcds over the weekend.

Be interested to see if it can be adjusted, seems theres nobody in Suffolk who can do the VCDS tweaks :(

I get the same too, but no MFD settings to adjust sensitivity (unlike in my old Audi A4)

I am pretty sure I looked at the adaptions for this and I couldn't find any labelled adaption channel to adjust this..

I haven't seen a direct adjustment for this in VCDS although I think there is an option to set what type of windscreen is installed which may have an effect but this could also impact on the rain sensor as its a dual sensor setup stuck to the screen

Of course, you desensitise them and they'll switch off in fog.
Caught me out years ago on a night into day journey in fog. Hadn't realised they'd switched off until I got flashed a few times.
Never trusted auto headlights since.

Mine didn't turn on in fog the other morning. Turned on side lights manually, so no bother. I always keep a check whether they are on anyway.

How do you do that, without getting out and looking obviously:)?
My van doesn't seem to give indication on the dashboard whether the auto lights are currently on or not.

The symbols on the switch light up..

I look at the hazard switch, illuminates red, or like @Loz says, look at the light switch, mind you if is difficult to see sometimes. Would be nice to have a lit symbol on the instrument cluster, like most other cars, stingy VW.

I have changed my light switch to one of the aftermarket chrome knob type ones and find the green auto light is more noticeable than the standard light switch when they come on

I preferred the one on the Touareg as that had separate buttons for front and rear fogs.
