Awning rail advice needed!

Hello
I have a T6 day van which I’m mid conversion on. I bought a Kampa Dometic 3x3 awning tent last year and have been rigging it on with guy lines but it’s a faff and impossible to avoid the rain getting in. As part of my conversion I want a quick and easy way of attaching the awning tent to the van. I’ve got roof bars so I’m not sure the magnetic attachment options would work. I was wondering if the solid plastic awning rails fitted to the van are the best option to achieve what I’m looking for and if anyone had any experience with them?
Thanks in advance!
Emma

The two ways to go are either a "stealth" rail in the roof channel or putting a side multi rail on.

The roof channel ones are available with a stepped profile that can work with some roof rails. They are generally the cheaper option and leave the van looking less "camper" which can be an advantage. I know Funky Leisure will sell you a small sample of the rail to offer up to the van to see if it would work for you, other suppliers may do the same (I have a Funky Leisure rail but no roof bars for the record)

The multi rails are more expensive and involved bonding and some drilling to fit. They offer more flexibility and they work well as a bit of a rain gutter for the side door in general use, but they are a permanent change. The Reimo Multi Rail is very popular but there are others such as the one from Vamoose

Ebay item 176088785200 is a quick bolt on option, but may conflict with your roof bar set-up.
