BBC Camper Van article

Confirmation camper ownership becoming more popular!

I view that as unfortunate, The less the better. I am not surprised A small sustainable niche goes by unnoticed and tolerated. The combined situation with Brexit and Covid19 compound things. I can see government interest pointing in this direction, ££££. I suspect that it will be seen or projected increasingly as having a negative impact. Then taxes will come in, local authorities will try to bring in there own measures, to arrest the rise and procure revenue. People will start to see minor acts of vandalism, graffiti etched on vehicles and so on.

Granted, badly worded so apologies.

Should’ve been clearer - the poorly behaved owners that we’ve seen have been giving us a bad name.

Sadly those poorly behaved people will be poorly behaved whether in a car, a van, caravan or a campervan. As long as they remain the minority and the rest of us be decent people, all will be good.

As one of the newcomers to T6's and campervans I am approaching this the same way as I did caravanning, it's a great opportunity to expand our travel opportunities. I am not going to ruin that for us, or for anyone else enjoying their free time, by being a complete idiot.

I save those moments for the wife to review

On a positive note - I have always found the caravan, and now van/campervan, community to be really helpful and friendly and long may it continue.

Try and get another caravanner to wave back though. No chance.... mise... ermmmm obviously concentrating really hard!

Agreed. I think we need to bolster the number of ‘decent’ ‘vanners to get the ratio going the right direction.

I agree to a point but on the other hand we might get some French Aire style sites in the UK as a result.......ah I forgot the NIMBYs and the inbred hatred of travellers.
