Looking for help, I bought a 2018 T6 and have had the barn doors replaced with a tailgate. However..... the autoelectrician is struggling to get the correct feed for the tailgate handle. He tells me that a specific feed is required to be powered for just 10s or so and no matter how much he tried he could not get the original BCM that came with the van to supply this feed.

So - he purchased another BCM (second hand) from a tailgate van - and has the tailgate working just fine......now the windscreen wipers and front lights dont work. The front lights he reckons is to do with the fact the new (secondhand) BCM is coded to T6 factory LEDs. As for the windscreen wipers he reckons theres just a fault in the BCM as all vans have front wipers and they should alwasy have the correct setup in the BCM.

Being financially in a bit of a hole here and this process going on for over 6 months Im kinda at my wits end. Im looking for any or all *constructive* advice on how to proceed. Would really appreciate it.

Thanks

PS - auto electrician asked if anyone had a T6 of around the 2018 vintage with a tailgate and standard factory headlights - if you could DM me your VIN so he could look at the BCM recommended by TPS/VW.

Hi there, I changed my barn doors to tailgate with electric handle. I had to run two extra wires from my original BCM. There is a very long conversation on here with other forum member discussing there conversation that will help you. If you search “barn door to tailgate conversion” it’s around 10 pages long.
