Best axle stand point

I think this would've been covered before.

I'm looking to place my rear n/s off the ground for several days. I'm taking the wheel off to be refurbished.

I have a 3T axle stand. Where would be the best place to place the stand?

In fact I may even source a spare wheel to replace it until I have the refurbished wheel back. I won't need the van. I have other transport.

I have a 2023 T6.1. So I'm thinking of every idea I can think of. I haven't a spare wheel. Maybe I can borrow one from somewhere?

Currently 20" on back. Thanks

There's this monster discussion thread on the subject I tried to summarise in the past:

If you're having the wheel off for several days I'd not leave it on a stand, I'd just get a single second hand steel wheel instead and consider using it as a spare longer term.

Lol great response.
Popped into my head. Makes sense

If you just want it for a bit as a better option than a stand out can probably use whatever size is handy to pick up local to you on eBay etc.

If you want to use it as a spare make sure you get something of a compatible dimension otherwise you'll get errors from stuff like the tyre monitoring..if you have 4Motion it's pretty much essential to avoid stressing the AWD system.

Also if you do plan to use as a spare make sure you have the spare wheel cage under the back!

Question: Dumb as it sounds. I've sourced a factory Clayton 16" with tyre. Will this be okay to fit temporarily? I've air suspension so wondering which setting to have on.

20" on all 3 sides and 1 on 16".

It won't be driven anywhere.

4" difference is your worst case, I don't know about air suspension to know if it would be safe or not.

I'd probably be fine with it on my standard suspension but then I'm on 18s

You could always put a bit of plank under the tyre as well to keep the difference lower.
