Further to this thread that I posted in the wrong sub on this forum; Bad oil leak and front end removal T5 1.9
I have moved the rad out of the way and was able to get a better look at the front of the engine. I still have absolutely NO idea where all this oil, coolant OR both has originated from. There is soo much caked oil. I took the oil filter housing off and to be honest I was expecting a perished gasket but it actually looked in good condition and the mating surface looks to be ok also. I mean, it was wet around where the filter housing meets the block so maybe the gasket was just too old and flat making it weep. I'm also going to remove the tandem pump again and replace the coolant flange, along with new coolant temp sensor below it that bolts into the head as it's also wet on top of the gearbox. I will be replacing the thermostat (you think housing also?) while I'm at it incase that has been weeping. Now I'm thinking there is a metal coolant pipe that runs along the front... might replace that also to try to mitigate any potential leaks.
